I believe this is what The Clarkbeckwourth Education Project all boils down to from a Lacanian perspective. The key is to work in the Discourse of the Analyst. Doing so is a best way to overcome the effect of the Masters Discourse.
This effect is to enable the target population to constitute its own ‘master signifiers’. Doing so is ‘bounded-ly’ liberating, Jacques Lacan suggests, as a psychoanalytical ‘cure’ (perhaps?).
